I just finished this and immediately came here bc I knew you'd written a piece on it - agree with all your takes!! very excited for the movie (didn't know this was a thing) but Joe Keery is a MUST. It was all just so lovely and toe wiggly and happy and I think it was 100% a book we all needed.
I loved this book sm I'm so glad to see a review of it!! It felt so real and genuine and I'm excited for the adaptation it's getting--I think it'll shine on screen and bring back some peak 2000s romcom feels. I got the twist spoiled when I was like halfway through which really tarnished the ending for me unfortunately, but I still adored it anyway
NOOO the big twist is like the whole experience! i actually gasped and then cackled when i read it. i can't wait to see it on the big screen!! hopefully the casting lives up to the hype in my head (plz Joe Keery PLZ!!)
i actually pictured Matthew as David Corenswet for some reason and Jonathan as Joe Keery! i feel like the possibilities are endless for the leading men tho, i hope she gets a great cast bc she deserves it!!
