an intro of sorts & a welcome to our shiny side of the Internet

hi there, friend, & welcome to little sparkles (by me, Alexia). I’m so glad you’re here!

.˚⭒ welcome to my (sparkly) world. ⭒˚.

I’m Alexia — by day, I’m a brand and web designer helping women-owned businesses find their sparkle, and by night, I’m a wannabe Jenna Rink-esque blogger, trying to get her own sparkle back.

in the in-between moments, I’m equal parts Monica Geller and Rachel Green: a perfectionistic, rigid Type A brain, with a heart that dreams big and yearns for the softer things of life.

this clashing balance within me has cultivated an endless daydreaming of a full, shiny life — but a paralysis that prevents me from taking (messy) action towards it.

enter: little sparkles.

this digital diary is my first step in getting my sparkle back. I plan to fill it with dreams, musings, personal essays, or anything else that I possibly feel like jotting down with my metaphorical typewriter.

it will certainly be filled with things & words that make my life feel more sparkly. ⭒

some things you can almost definitely expect are: em-dashes and parentheses in abundance, one too many Friends references, excessive but necessary use of hyperbole, obsessions and fixations and crushes, advice from my therapist, oddly-specific playlists, and above all, a safe place to land and fill your eyes with twinkles.

my hope is this…

while this is ultimately a coming home to creative expression and an embrace of the just-for-fun, I sincerely hope that the practice of writing (then backspacing, then writing some more) will bring me closer to myself and slowly but surely lead me back to my sparkliest self.

but I also hope that it gives you something. a smile, a wink and a nod, a place to belong. we won’t take things too seriously here, but we also won’t judge you if you do. permission granted to be messy, whimsical, obsessive, wordy, undecided, imperfect.
